Sitting at a coffee shop one morning in Denver, my friends and I discussed what it looks like to be intentional at work about Jesus. One a pharmaceutical rep, one a teacher and the other an engineer. All discontent and unconfident about any skills they have been given. “I’m not exactly going to pull out a little booklet.” Makes me start to think. What am I passing on to students that actually will have any value in their life post-college. Is my goal really to change the world?
What do I do? Well, I give students lots of boxes, lots of categories and lots of work! I ask for stats about decisions made and yet don’t know how to really celebrate other significant “gospel moves”.
I train up in how to be a campus minister very well thank you. But an engineer, teacher or salesperson. Um, I’m not so sure.
